Pennant Wants To Stay, Mascherano Makes The History Books, UEFA Shortlist (4 Reds), Berbatov “Signs” Man U, Cisse Scores For Sunderland

Pennant Doesnt Want To Go To Spurs

For the past few weeks, it was thought that Blackburn Rovers wanted Liverpool’s somewhat-unwanted right-winger Jermaine Pennant, to fill the gap left by David Bentley (rumoured Liverpool target), who went on to join his dream club Tottenham Hotspurs, and it was believed that the transfer fee would be around 6 mil pounds, but Pennant has shot back saying that he would love to stay at Anfield.

“I want to stay at Liverpool,” Pennant told The People.

“I have been given a fantastic opportunity to play for the team I supported as a kid and all I want to do is work hard and fight for my place in the team.”

So do we (the liverpool fans) want Mr. Pennant to leave…or do we want him to stay and fight for a place in the first-team? Because we have seen that in some games, Pennant shows great potential, but what he lacks is the consistency. Will the lack of cinsistency see him leave Anfield.

Mascherano Making History

Javier Mascherano helped Argentina beat Nigeria 1-0 in 2008 Olympic final in Beijing, the winning goal for the South Americans being scored by Angel Di Maria in the 58th minute.

And in doing so, Mascherano made history, because four years ago in Athens, the defensive midfielder was also in the Argentina side that defeated Paraguay 1-0 in the Olympic final. That means he is the first Argentine ever to win Olympic gold twice.

Cool, huh?

Speaking of Man U…here’s an amusing piece of news

SunSport’s exclusive snaps yesterday of the wantaway Spurs star autographing a Reds shirt sparked outrage among Tottenham supporters.

Berbatov signed the shirt for British fan John Russell at Sofia Airport on his way to Bosnia with the Bulgaria squad.

And we can reveal that the Bulgarian striker even put his signature right next to the badge on the United shirt he hopes to be wearing soon.
